as long as i am materially contaminated by elements like lust, anger, jealousy, desires etc, i cannot remember my past. btw there is nothing called conscious mind. mind is also a part or instrument like hands, legs or eyes. it gets the reflected light from the self just like moon gets the light from sun. only difference is that, mind is subtle and is made from the purest form of matter. food goes in as 3 parts - grossest part as stool, middle one as flesh, organs etc and purest as the mind. can you remember before you were born? have you ever been knocked out? passed out? where is the conscious mind then?

are we really just a bunch of biological robots anyways? i mean cmon how many souls can there be? you have to be able to think to meditate. and you need a brain to do that. and the brain will die. i mean if you wannA GET preachy...

Allthough obtuse I think Indianrailways is talking about Bikram's need to doink is hot, young, and limber teaching students (which is all American but not very Yogic).Meaning Bikram may have mastered his ass but he has not mastered what hangs below his mula banda.

No, Yoga is an attempt to remove the need for gratification. Granted it might be gratifying to learn the practice, to improve, to succeed in learning the poses, and to get the endorphin rush of good physical exercise but that is only 1/8 of yoga. All the physical part of Yoga is, is a set of exercises to help you learn to concentrate, so you can learn to meditate, so you can learn to not need gratification. |
