After seeing this performance on the Tony's, I wanted to see this show so badly! Ms. Ebersole is truly one of the best actors out there. She NAILED Edie's character, point-blank.

My mom bought tickets to this show for my sister and I for Christmas. She made a card for us in a collage that had the quote 'a love story between a mother and daughter' on it. The three of us are going together - I LOVE HER!! As soon as I heard 'Jerry likes my corn' I knew it was going to be good!!! We <3 the Edies.

I agree, why the need to feel to compare SA with Grey Gardens. They are two different Broadways. Their both brilliant in the own ways.

It's so good because she's one hundred percent in this character, completely in her skin. Also because the music and lyrics and performance all are imbued with an utterly bat-sh!t-crazy aesthetic. Also, she's mesmerizing.

You had the thumbs down on Ebersole? How much of her work have you actually seen? Her Ado Annie in Oklahoma was definitive. And she left that Broadway production to star in Camelot, another great performance. And in 42nd St, divine. I had the priviledge of working on a production of the 3 Sisters and she was the best part of the show, particularly a tantrum she deservedly threw backstage at Sam Waterston. I would rate her as one of the theater's greatest and most versatile talents.

This is her best recorded performance of this song. It's so wordy and she nails it everytime. Excellent delivery and excellent accompaniment- She leads and they stay right with her.
