The most unfortunate aspect of religion is that it removes Man's highest achievements and ideals and assigns them to a ghost. Mancan be great and Man can be good.

This is beautiful music and it really is in keeping with the Cotswold Hills and Villages. I would love to know the location of the Church shown at the start.

There is no ten-minute limit. There is a 17-minute version of his Tallis Fantasia on youtube

Probably because YouTube limits videos to 10 minutes, and my version of "The Lark Ascending" is 16 minutes.

But, let's not continue to spoil this 'heavenly' music with impertinent banter. Of course you may reply to what I've said, that's a given...I choose now not to make further comment on the matter. I'll just enjoy the lark's song.

I assure you, his being born was an act wherein God assisted most intimately. How can I believe in something if I cannot affirm it as truth? How can miserable I claim Christianity as my faith if I do not ascribe to it the same truth that the holy martyrs did when they died for it? No, it is my duty to them and to my God to account what has been revealt to me as truth. It is your faith to believe them untrue.

Speaking of RVW as an athiest you said to someone "...but I assure you that by his very being he had help from God." That is not something you can assure anyone. As much as you may want and believe that such beautiful things must come from God's inspiration, it is your faith to claim, but it is not something you can claim as truth and give assurance to others who don't believe in God. To me, a nonbeliever, you come across as presumptuous, like most believers.

meraviglioso, la musica britannica è troppo sottovalutata, mi pare, ma credo che il neoromanticismo e perfino tutta la musica da film arrivi da certe vostre fonti, thanks english composers
