Celtic Woman is a musical ensemble comprising six Irish female artists: vocalists Chloë Agnew, Órla Fallon, Lynn Hilary, Lisa Kelly, Alex Sharpe and fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt. The group's repertoire ranges from traditional Celtic tunes to modern songs. To date, the group has released three albums, Celtic Woman, Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration and Celtic Woman: A New Journey, and have undertaken a number of world tours.The foundation for Celtic music's popularity outside of Ireland and Europe was previously set by artists Enya and Clannad, along with stage shows Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. its a traditional irish song really, enya is the one who made people really listen to it outside of ireland, but this is a great version of the song as well.

Certainly Celtic Woman singers use more English words in the song than Enya does; since I'm not Irish I can't understand half of what Enya sings in her version. For some reason I prefer the Celtic Woman version better. Enya's version is great also.

I agree 100%. Nothing against Enya, I think that she is great when she sings the song. Nevertheless, I believe that Celtic Woman are better at singing the song. I give them 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.

Celtic woman are definitely good, but the songs they perform are sung a lot, like "Over the Rainbow","Somewhere","Nella Fantasia" etc by IL DIVO, Sarah Brigthman, Charlotte Church, etc. same songs over and over...I agree about Enya, with her, there is no need for anything else. |
