And anyone who didn't speak Latin was a "barbarian", but this was AD84, The Kingdoms of Gaels and Picts were 500 years later! And they may have shared a common language, (Neil Oliver said the earliest Picts spoke old Welsh in the History of Scotland programme-that would make them Celts, at least in terms of language!)
