Ok Mike, don't get a nose bleed. Good point, but I was asking a question about the mics. Not voicing my contempt, like I could do better. And when I said it was "sat wrong" I was speaking about the conductor's conducting.

I would think that the decades of experience that the BBC has in broadcasting sound from the Royal Albert Hall, they know which microphones to situate where, and the technicians more than capable of balancing the sound. As for saying that the oboeist is sitting in the wrong place in the orchestra is just plain daft. He sits in the woodwind section. Where do you expect him to sit, next to the tympanist?

Bloody orgasmic. They just got a decca tree and close mic on janine? If so, that oboe is sat wrong or was playing too loud.

Yet changingly the trills repeatAnd linger ringing while they fleet,Sweet to the quick o the ear, and dearTo her beyond the handmaid ear,Who sits beside our inner springs, 15Too often dry for this he brings,Which seems the very jet of earthAt sight of sun, her muscis mirth,As up he wings the spiral stair,A song of light, and pierces air

The Lark Ascending George Meredith (18281909) HE rises and begins to round,He drops the silver chain of soundOf many links without a break,In chirrup, whistle, slur and shake,All intervolvd and spreading wide, 5Like water-dimples down a tideWhere ripple ripple overcurlsAnd eddy into eddy whirls;A press of hurried notes that runSo fleet they scarce are more than one,

ho's the idiot coughing at the beginning. That is so annoying, happened at a concert on Saturday. If you have a cough...go somewhere else...the pub maybe. |
